No. When you choose to use social sign in, during login process, an authentication page from social media will prompt to collect username or password. This mechanism prevent HTC account to store your login information directly. How do I setup my recovery email/phone? What is it for?
Besides the login email/phone, account recovery email/phone is the alternative method to receive reset password link or verification code. It can be very useful should you lose your phone or access to your login email. Visit Login & Security on HTC account website (account.htcvive.com), and then go to Account Recovery. Click Add recovery email/phone, and after changing, click Save. You will receive a verification email/short message afterward.
